Discover the Domaine de Poulaines, a green haven of over 25 hectares where history, nature and art meet. Nestling in a wooded park, this seigniorial estate, mentioned as early as 1340, has been patiently restored to its full splendour with its Renaissance Manor House and outbuildings, surrounded by a harmonious landscape shaped by time. For the past 35 years, we have been breathing new life into this preserved historic estate by restoring the buildings and creating gardens based on 19th-century descriptions and species.
Over more than 5 hectares, wander through themed gardens with varied atmospheres and through the arboretum, with its hundred-year-old box trees and paths dotted with sculptures. Let yourself be surprised by the peaceful presence of the sheep, the murmur of the streams and the explosion of colour offered by over a thousand flowers and species. The gardens designed by owner Valérie Esnault combine English refinement with a contemporary design spirit. As you wander around, you’ll discover works by sculptors, photographs of birds from the Berry region, a vegetable garden with old-fashioned vegetables, a bouquetier garden and our farm animals. Each step offers a unique sensory experience, with the colours, scents and sounds of nature.
