  • Who are the members of the Route Jacques Cœur?

    The Route Jacques Cœur is made up of 21 must-see members of the local heritage:

    • 10 châteaux: Ainay-le-Vieil, La Chapelle d’Angillon, La Verrerie, Meillant, Menetou-Salon, Pesselières, Peufeilhoux (Allier) and Sagonne, the Château-Musée de Gien (Conseil départemental du Loiret) and the Domaine de ChâteauFer,
    • 4 emblematic sites: Noirlac Abbey (Conseil Départemental du Cher), Jean Linard Cathedral, Galerie Capazza and Palais Jacques Cœur (Centre des Monuments Nationaux),
    • 7 towns and villages: Argent-sur-Sauldre, Aubigny-sur-Nère, Bourges, Dun-sur-Auron, Mehun-sur-Yèvre, Saint-Amand-Montrond and Sancerre.

  • How long has the Route Jacques Cœur been in existence?

    The Route Jacques Cœur was founded in 1954 on the initiative of three owners: the Marquis de Mortemart in Meillant, Baron Géraud d’Aligny in Ainay-le-Vieil and Jean Ferragut in Culan.

  • What are the aims of the Route Jacques Cœur?

    Since 1954, the Route has been a not-for-profit association of private and public bodies united to develop the promotion of heritage as part of a sustainable tourism organization.

    Its aim is to increase the tourism expertise of its members, and toencourage exchanges between them and with local players – accommodation providers, restaurateurs, tourist offices, elected representatives, associations and other sites – to share experiences in running, welcoming and developing tourism.

  • What brochures do you offer and can you ship them?

    The Route Jacques Cœur produces several flyers, which are renewed each year: a main flyer presenting the Route and its members, and a detailed flyer for each member (a total of 21 different flyers).

    To limit environmental impact, flyers are no longer sent by post. During your stay, you can find them at the reception desks of the various member sites. You can also find digital versions by clicking here.

  • How can I find practical information about each member?

    All members have their own page on our website. Here you’ll find all the information you need: contact details, opening hours, activities, services, etc.

  • What is the Pass Privilège?

    The Pass Privilège is a dematerialized loyalty card entitling holders to discounts at all Route Jacques Cœur member and partner sites.
